Wedding Celebration*

*and Weather Bitching Party Part IV. Confused? We’ll get to that.

Welcome to our Weekend

When we started planning our wedding, we asked ourselves what we really wanted and a few things immediately rose to the top of our list. A party. A truly special destination. But most of all, what we wanted to create is a shared experience with those we love.

These three days are designed to allow us to spend time with each of you in different settings that show off the best of the Maine coastline (one of our favorite holiday destinations and top 2nd home contender!).

You’ll also find a blend of traditions from each of our backgrounds (though not necessarily how you would expect them to be executed!) Please read on to see what the three days entail and visit our other pages to hear our love story and see how you can extend your time in Maine.

Please reach out with questions; we can’t wait to see you at the end of July!

Friday: Mehndi and the Weather Bitching Party Part IV

5:00-10:00pm @ Cape Neddick Lobster Pound

To kick-off the festivities, we welcome you to a traditional Lobster Pound on stilts over the water. Here, you’ll find a Mehndi artist ready to decorate your hands with geometric patterns and heavy hors d'oeuvres straight from the Ocean and local Maine farms.

We’ll also invite you to partake in the Huschka Weather Bitching Party Part IV. A family tradition that dates back to one drought-ridden summer when Benny, praying for rain, lit a bonfire and invited everyone to drink to the rain gods. This tradition has continued at each of his daughters’ weddings. While moderately successful in shaping weather conditions, the Weather Bitching Party has consistently brought good times to every occasion.

Dress code: New England beach chiq or fun Indian/Indo-Western. Not sure what that means? We got you.

Saturday: Maine Day Camp

10:00am-4:00pm @ York Harbor Beach or Long Sands Beach

Maine has the longest coastline of any state in the US and some of the most stunning beaches. While the ocean can be crisp in the dead of summer (welcome to New England!) the sun will warm your soul. We will take over a portion of a local beach to play games, paddle board or kayak, and have a good time. A picnic lunch will be provided by Foster's Clam Bake - lobster rolls anyone?

Dinner will be on your own while we have a date night, and we recommend you do the same! The food scene in Maine is sharp and there are a number of lovely towns nearby to explore. See this link for recommendations and stay tuned for a local bar Jane and I will be having post-‘Date Night’ drinks at.

Dress code: Beach attire (don’t forget your swimsuit!)

Sunday: Wedding & Reception

3:45-11:00pm @ Stage Neck Inn

The Wedding will take place on the private lawn of the Stage Neck Inn overlooking the Ocean. Please be ready to take your seats by 3:45pm for the ceremony starting at 4pm. Afterwards join us for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the lawn, followed by dinner and dancing. We selected the Stage Neck Inn for the stunning views and its laid-back attitude. If we’re lucky, they might even have the fire pit lit!

Dress code: Festive (but formal) attire. Western, Indian, or other traditional all encouraged. For inspiration, see our Pinterest board.
